Discover your calling and gain hands-on ministry experience through our Crossroads Internship Program, where you’ll grow in leadership, faith, and service.

Our Purpose

We are passionate about investing in leaders! We don’t take lightly the responsibility to ensure Crossroads is used by God for generations to come. To do this, we must be intentionally investing in people who will be leaders in the future. We offer a variety of internships that allow people to explore if God might be calling them to work in vocational ministry.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for people who have a burden in their heart to make their life count for something. We value servant leadership as modeled by Jesus who "...did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mark 10:45. We believe we can do ordinary things extraordinarily well as we help people connect with God and others at the crossroads in their lives. If you are faithful, humble, and teachable we believe we can give you an amazing internship experience that will help you discern if a life dedicated to serving in vocational ministry is a calling you should be saying "yes" to.

Experiences

While we know our internships will allow you to experience and learn some amazing things, our primary goal is to develop YOU as a person! Depending on what team you join, you will be fully-immersed in the day-to-day ministry of Crossroads. You will join meetings, plan events, write compelling communications, develop speaking skills and grow in emotional intelligence and relationship building. We also take time out of our busy schedules for team building and fun shenanigans from time-to-time!

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our internship program, including application details, expectations, and how to get started.

Most of our internships are paid. Generally speaking, the education and experience the intern brings with them during the interview process will dictate how much an intern will be paid.

You will work out your office hours with your direct supervisor. Most of our student interns work anywhere from 6-10 hours a week (see job descriptions for specific hours) and there is flexibility (with advance notice) to accommodate school activities and commitments. Student interns need some daytime availability between 9am and 4pm a couple days a week. Our pastoral interns range from 6 hours to 12 hours in most cases. We aim to get them into pastoral counseling meetings between the hours of 4pm and 6pm a couple evenings a week so availability after 4pm a couple of afternoons is needed. Pastoral interns also have 3 hours two Sundays a month for pastoral cohort.

This will depend on the intern role you accept. If you are a pastoral intern or interning within our Crossroads Kids or worship/tech ministry, you can expect some Sunday hours. Even our RUSH student interns have a couple Sunday hours throughout the year when hosting special events for incoming 6th grade students.

While we have an impressive track record of hiring interns (it is one of our favorite ways to locate future staff members!), we unfortunately cannot hire every single intern we bring on our team. You should enter into this internship assuming a future job is NOT guaranteed.

We will provide a computer for you to use during your internship. You will need to have your own cell phone.

At a minimum, we typically want interns to be old enough that they are entering their junior year of high school (or older) and able to drive themselves. You also don't have to be a "traditional student" who is going to college or tech school in order to intern here at Crossroads. (NOTE: We are willing to work with your school to offer you class credit for your internship if that is desired.) If you are past "young adult" age...don't count yourself out from doing an internship! Some of our best employees (including two of our pastors!) started as part-time, unpaid adult interns who were in their 30s, 40s and 50s!

For the 2025/2026 academic school year, we are expecting to offer internships both our Sheboygan and Manitowoc campuses. With this said, most our internships for the upcoming school year are based out of our Sheboygan campus.
