How To Share Your Faith

Below are a few of the ways that we recommend for how to share your faith.
The Bridge Method:
The Bridge to Life illustration is a tried-and-true resource that gives you Bible verses to explain why we need Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross to solve our greatest problem – separation from God.
When you’re not sure if friends have surrendered their lives to Christ yet, this is a great way to help them make that decision.
Draw this simple diagram on a piece of paper to walk someone through the Gospel step-by-step. It helps to have the verses handy, bookmarked in a Bible or Bible app. The numbers show you the order in which to share.
The B.L.E.S.S. Method:
The B.L.E.S.S. is an approach to prayer and evangelism, as outlined by Pastor Adam in the sermon below. It’s less about downloading information or memorizing scripts, and more about loving our neighbors well. It helps us get “unstuck” and practice evangelism more effortlessly. Using five simple missional practices—
Begin with prayer
Listen with care
Eat together
Serve in love
Share the story
—BLESS is a suite of resources designed as an intentional pathway to equip every believer to make disciples who follow Jesus, become like Jesus, and engage in the mission of Jesus every day.
How To Share The Gospel:
(Recap of Greg Stier's Video)
- ASK: Get to know people. Listen to them and learn their story. ASK questions about their background and spirituality.
- ADMIRE: As a person shares their faith background, point out things about their religion that you admire (i.e. dedication, missions).
- ADMIT: Emphasize that as a Christian, you are a messed up sinner who needs salvation. Transition into your story and the story of the Gospel.
AS YOU TRANSITION INTO THE GOSPEL STORY, USE THE G.O.S.P.E.L. METHOD TO EXPLAIN WHAT YOU BELIEVE
God created us to be with Him (Gen. 1-2)
Our sin separates us from God (Rom. 3:23 & 6:23)
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds (Eph. 2:8-9)
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again (Rom. 5:8)
Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life (John 1:2 & Rev. 3:20)
Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever
END THE CONVERSATION WITH THESE 2 QUESTIONS:
- Does that make sense?
- Is there anything holding you back right now from putting your faith in Jesus?
